Long time no see as they say. Some of you may know the reason for our absence but incase you don't then have a look here. Since our last Vintage Village Fair back in April our life was turned upside down. Fortunately things are back almost back to normal and as a thank you to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, who cared for Kitty, we are hosting a 'Vintage Tea Party and Sale' in our garden. For more information on how to buy tickets please look here. We will be returning to Vintage Village on Sunday 11th Sept and as an extra celebration all our takings on that day will also be donated to Royal Manchester Childrens' Hospital. So dig deep and feel good whilst you spend. Looking forward to seeing you there, Kristy and Lily x

Twinkle

The other day I picked up a little piece of my childhood. I remember eagerly looking forward to my Twinkle annual every year.

Flicking through it's page's took me back to being a 7 year old again.

It seemed to stir some memories for a few of our twitter friends too so I thought I'd share a few photos.

In fact as I have a duplicate copy in my colllection this one will soon be on it's way to a new home. Snapped up by one of those twitter friends!

Vintage Village

So sunday saw us at our first vintage and craft fair Vintage Village in nearby Stockport. After the initial panic of what to take we soon realised we had taken far too much and half the stock went back in the car! From the doors opening at 10am we were almost constantly busy and met some lovely people and got some great feedback.

It wasn't until we were packing up at 4.30 that we realised we hadn't taken any photos so all these are 'after' shots. The stall did look a little better organised to begin with honest!

Our Polish dolls proved very popular which is great as it means I can justify sourcing some more!

Obviously there were plenty of Christmas decorations and they proved to be very popular.I'm already looking to replenish our stock for next year.

Two of my favourite items actually came home with us. The cute little owl pen holder and the vintage reading aids. Not such a bad thing really as we get to enjoy them a little longer. Well at least until the 9th of January which is when the fair is on next.

Things We Love Part 2 Vintage Balloon Pumps

The Agnes Darling home never started out to collect vintage balloon pumps but it was the classic case of finding one and then another and in no time at all we had three. Three *is* a collection, did you know? Then it was too late as we were hooked on finding different ones. We never realised just how many great designs there are out there.

We just love the graphics and the sense of fun they display. Our favourite is the 'Li-Lo' one because it reminds a certain 40yr old of family holidays in the 70's!

You can still pick these up for a few pounds if you look hard enough and we always have our eyes peeled for another.

Mini Shop Update

Yesterday's lovely fabric find spurred me on to list some other lovely fabrics in the Agnes Darling shop.
These are all from our personal stash and destined to become cushions for the sitting room but there is plenty so it seemed rude not to share!

New Fabric In The Shop

We were lucky enough to come across a huge length of this gorgeous 1960's printed cotton recently. It's the type of print that I'm sure has inspired some well known textiles designers in recent years. Destined to become cushions and totes there is far more here than we will ever need.

So we have listed a metre in the shop. There is actually quite a bit more available so if you need more please do ask.

In the meantime I'm going to sit and enjoy it's vintage charm.
